At the 9 th meeting of the ‘SRH Forum for RMGs’ held on October 16, 2023 at Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), ToguMogu is formally included as a Forum member.
Ms. Shahan Ara Banu, ndc, Director General (Grade-1), DGFP was present as Chief Guest and Md. Sohel Parves, Director (Finance) and Line Director (FP-FSD), DGFP was the Chair at the meeting.
ToguMogu is the first tech-company and startup to be included in the Forum due to their innovative approach to educate and aware on Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) to RMG workers.
ToguMogu started working in the RMG sector since 2022 and used its parenting app to onboard RMG workers and educate on various issues related to Sexual and Reproductive health, family planning etc.
Recently ToguMogu also announced a partnership with UNFPA Bangladesh on this regard.
As part of its continuous effort to provide value to the RMG Sector - largest employer of female workers in Bangladesh, ToguMogu seek the membership of the forum. ToguMogu’s Co-Founder & CEO, Nazmul Arefin, PhD made a presentation about the technology platform and parenting app. ToguMogu’s initiative was highly praised all the members of DGFP, BGMEA, BKMEA and other SRH forum members and observer organization.
Research has shown that if we invest $1 in SRHR, the return is, $ 12.80 for RMG owners in terms of productivity gain.
The focus of the SRH Forum for RMGs are:
- Strengthening monitoring system at RMGs to ensure the supply side of Family Planning (FP) commodities.
- Ensure coordination among DGFP, BGMEA, BKMEA, Forum Secretariat and member NGOs to increase awareness and strengthen FP supply side and reporting system
- Create ownership and motivate the RMG’s Senior Management to ensure FP-MCH, SRHR services and reduce dropout.
Mr. Helal Uddin Chowdhury, Chair, Health Committee, BGMEA He asked ToguMogu to develop contents related to RMG workers. Mr. Humayun Kabir Talukdar, Director Audit, emphasized that RMG workers should be made aware on the family planning methods. He thanked ToguMogu for making the digital progress towards Smart Bangladesh. At the meeting, Mr. Abdul Latif Molla, Line Director, IEM Unit requested all to make the IEC materials digital. Mr. Molla invited ToguMogu to a meeting with them to develop content.
Mr. Azmal Hossain, UNFPA invited ToguMogu to conduct a workshop on use of technology to provide better education on SRH and monitoring the use of family planning method.
At the end, Ms. Indrani Debnath she formally announced the inclusion of ToguMogu in the SRH Forum for RMGs. The Forum Chair, Md. Sohel Parves, Director (Finance) and Line Director (FP- FSD) also welcomed Togumogu to the SRH Forum for RMGs.
